Quantum Molecular Resonance

Quantum molecular resonance (QMR) is based on the delivery of an alternating electrical signal spanning a broad spectrum of specific frequencies (4-64 MHz). These frequencies correspond to those of molecular bonds found in biological tissues; when applied, they interact with these bonds and directly stimulate cellular activity.

How quantum molecular resonance works

This stimulation increases metabolic activity, enhances ionic exchange, and activates tissue repair mechanisms. Unlike thermal devices, QMR exerts its effects without raising tissue temperature, thus avoiding any risk of burns or secondary inflammation.

The procedure is non-invasive, painless, and is now considered a major component of the modern therapeutic strategy for complex evaporative dry eye disease.

At the ocular level, it stimulates the function of the Meibomian and lacrimal glands, thereby improving meibum secretion and tear film stability. It also reduces inflammation and promotes regeneration of the palpebral conjunctival tissues.

Protocol

Standard treatment protocols include 3 to 4 sessions, either alone or in combination with other platforms within the Interventional Dry Eye concept.

Indications retained in practice
  1. Dry eye disease with corneal epithelial lesions
  2. Post-LASIK dry eye disease
  3. Isotretinoin-induced dry eye disease
  4. Dry eye disease with grade 4 meibomian gland atrophy
  5. Dry eye disease in Sjogren syndrome
  6. Dry eye disease with severe ocular rosacea
